The Key to Good Health.

Chiropractic Care

is a natural form of health care that focuses on improving the structure & function of the body without the use of drugs or surgery. Chiropractors are licensed physicians that treat a wide variety of painful conditions of the spine, head, neck, & extremities. Chiropractic care is incredibly safe & effective for all ages at improving the health & function of the body. While chiropractic care is wildly successful for a wide variety of pain & nerve conditions, it is essentially relying on the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Chiropractic care is becoming increasingly popular because it is natural & does not rely on drugs or surgery to heal the body. There are many tools at the disposal of a Chiropractic Physician, such as laser therapy, dry needling, & rehab, but the primary treatment used is the chiropractic adjustment. The adjustment improves the structure & function of the body by correcting the alignment of the spine & improving mobility. It is very gentle & there are a variety of chiropractic adjusting techniques that are matched to suit the individual needs of the patient. Our office sees amazing results on a daily basis with a wide variety of pain & health conditions that are improved with chiropractic care. Deep Tissue Laser Therapy

Deep Tissue Laser Therapy is clinically proven as an effective treatment for pain & inflammation. Able to penetrate to deep tissue structures, it has the ability to treat a wide variety of both acute & chronic conditions. Our office commonly treats conditions such as arthritis, disc herniations/bulges, shoulder pain, strains/sprains, hip, knee, & foot pain using laser therapy. Laser therapy is amazing at reducing pain & inflammation, & is used by athletes all over the world to speed up recovery. Treatments are painless & fast (10-15 min) & results can be immediate, but the most observed results are after 3 to 5 treatment sessions. The body continues to benefit from the effects of the therapy for 18-24 hours after treatment. During this time, modulated cellular activity leads to decreased pain and inflammation. Deep tissue conditions are treated especially well using the LightForce™ Therapy Laser’s patented Laser-Massage® treatment head. This patented feature allows the practitioner to deliver energy while manipulating underlying tissue & muscle thus enhancing the effectiveness of the treatment.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression is a safe & effective alternative to surgery for a variety of spine & disc conditions. It relays on a special table that puts a gentle stretch on the spine to remove pressure on the nerves. Decompression has helped thousands of patients avoid invasive spinal surgery for conditions such as herniated discs, sciatica, & disc degeneration. A typical decompression session takes about 20 minutes & requires a series of visits over time to reduce the pressure on the nerves.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a form of healing therapy that uses acupuncture needles to reduce pain & improve function. Traditional dry needling focuses on trigger points in muscles, or tiny knots that develop due to pain or dysfunction. By sticking a tiny needle in the muscle, it elicits what is called a twitch response and resets the muscle function. At Memphis Spine and Sport, dry needling is used for trigger point therapy but also for activation of the nervous system. The needles, along with electric stimulation delivered deep into the tissues from the needles, will reduce inflammation & stimulate small nerves in the area that help reduce pain & restore normal function. Dry needling can be used to reduce acute pain, as with a disc herniation, but is also amazing at helping clear up chronic, nagging pain from old injuries.
